Internship

The APSTA internship opportunities are intended to offer a small group of outstanding graduate-level students the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to APSTA’s work with the objective of deepening their practical knowledge and skills, through an understanding of APSTA’s goals, principles and activities. Internship is designed to complement development-oriented studies with practical experience in various professional aspects. In so doing, APSTA also stands to benefit from the contribution that interns make to its programmes and activities. As a Pan-African Association, the APSTA seeks to enhance that African identity by preferring African students without necessarily discriminating against other nationalities and iving equal opportunities across Africa for practical training and skill development.

The APSTA Internship Programme offers you a practical work experience in a multicultural environment under the supervision of experienced supervisors and team members. Aside from helping you understand the Organization’s mandate, scope of operation and programmes and main thrusts, it also improves your academic knowledge with relevant work assignments and network opportunities that can help you prepare for your future career.

Mr. Samuel Borich NANA WASSON

Position: ICT | KM INTERN

Samuel is an ICT intern who brings on board rich experience and knowledge in Web development, Graphics, Content management, Systems operations and ICT network, Database management and designs, Internet and technical support services. His valuable contributions to the ICT/KM Office have shaped operations. Samuel also ensures that, he provides technical ICT/KM advice to the ICT Office and the Secretariat on policies and procedures. Samuel is tasked to :

  • Coordinate and conduct usability testing and user outreach for APSTA intranet and APSTA hosted websites including training on the electronic information systems of APSTA Secretariat.
  • Manage the APSTA brand and corporate identity, and provide support to APSTA events.
  • Continually analyze the various reports, presentations and news articles with the objective of extracting and drafting customized reports to be used by the Management of the Secretariat.
  • Perform other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the ICT/KM Officer.
  • Handle all information, data and files with discretion, privacy and care.

Having the APSTA experience is a step to both local and international engagement. Rikiatou is an intern assigned to front desk and reception at APSTA. She brings on board rich experience in Coorporate customer care. She also seeks to upgrade her Coorporate skills to advance her competences. Her task cuts across various offices and support services but not limited to :

  • Manage the office environment and equipment to ensure a safe and effective business arena by reporting on damages, defects, repairs and maintenance.
  • Providing assistance and taking up reception duties such as directing, receiving visitors, answering phone calls and documents/mails.
  • Providing logistical support to the general office staff.
