Organizational Structure

The APSTA Constitution established the following organs for the purpose of carrying out the business of the organization

The General Meeting

The Board of Directors

The Chairperson

The Secretariat

Headed by the Executive Secretary

Treasurer

The Honorary Member

Patron/Matron

Individual Members

Bodies established by the General Meeting

The structure of the APSTA Secretariat consists of the following six (6) positions :

  • The Executive Secretary (ES).
  • The Deputy Executive Secretary (DES) / Programmes Coordinator.
  • The Finance / Administration / Human Resources Officer
  • The Information and Communication Technology / Knowledge Manager.
  • Support Staff, namely Customer Service / Front Desk/PA, and Office Assistant.

Subject to the guidance of the ES, and in consultation with other sections, the HRM will maintain organizational charts for the APSTA Secretariat. Differentiation can be made between those positions which are standard and those that relate to the overall management and support structure of the organization as follows :

  • Semi-permanent positions : these positions can be proportionally charged to project budgets and/or core funding.
  • Project positions : these positions are directly related to project implementation and should be fully covered for in the approved project budgets. The overall Organogram indicated below, as well as that of Secretariat in the next section, reflect the structures necessary to achieve the key objectives highlighted within the Strategic Plan.
