Regional distribution of conflicts and interventions across Africa in July 2023
Notes : Northern Africa : In Tunisia, the row over migrants especially from sub-Saharan Africa continues despite various interventions. Western Africa : Coup in Niger on 26th July increased the number of coups in the region, it also signalled increased rapprochements with Russia Wagner group. Central Africa : Separatists attack on civilians in North West and South West Cameroun as well as militia attacks in Eastern DRC continued. Eastern Africa : In Sudan, disagreement between Generals Hemedti and Al-Burhan worsened the situation, causing more casualties and displacements. Southern Africa : This region continues as the most stable, except for fatal attacks in South Africa and on-going conflicts in Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique. Source : APSTA Situation Room
